EDUCATION
Mr. Thompson attended public and private catholic schools (St. Patrick’s) in Vallejo, graduating from Hogan Senior High School as the Senior Class Vice President.
Mr. Thompson attended the University of San Francisco where he obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics. While enrolled at USF, he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, was voted both State and Western Regional Undergraduate of the Year by his peers, played on the Tennis Team and received a Fellowship in Banking and Finance.

Thereafter Mr. Thompson attended the University of California at Los Angeles, where he was one of 28 students admitted to the prestigious J.D.– M.B.A. Program, graduating simultaneously with a Juris Doctor Degree in Law from UCLA Law School and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Business.
While enrolled at UCLA, Mr. Thompson was a Henry & Emma DeGarmo Scholarship recipient, founder of the J.D./M.B.A. “Executive Barristers”, and had memberships in the Tax Law Division of the Student Bar Association, Young Christian Lawyer’s Association, National Association of Black Accountants and was voted outstanding “MBA of the Year” by the National Black MBA Association, Los Angeles Chapter. He assisted in the development and implementation of a complex management information software system for a prominent law firm to satisfy the requirements of his Master’s Thesis. While attending law school, Mr. Thompson concentrated in the areas of tax, real estate, civil litigation and corporate law.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Mr. Thompson has held law clerk positions at several prominent Los Angeles law firms, including Spensley, Horn, Lubas & Jubas (tax and intellectual properties), Glendell, Rasckoff, Shapiro & Quitner (tax and corporate law), and IBM Corporate Litigation Department (anti-trust law).
He was also employed as a Tax Auditor for the Department of the Treasury – Internal Revenue Service; Tax Specialist with the International Accounting Firm of Coopers & Lybrand; and as a Tax Accountant with the Big 8 International Accounting firms Price Waterhouse and Company, and Touche Ross.
Mr. Thompson also worked as an Account Executive for Richard H. Knight & Company where his duties consisted of marketing tax shelter programs to investors (oil & gas, real estate and equipment leasing). During the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles, Mr. Thompson founded MAT Associates, a consulting firm, which specialized in preparing business plans and venture capital procurement for minority vendors seeking licenses from the Olympic Organizing Committee.
In 1985, Mr. Thompson opened the doors to his law office in the ABC Entertainment Center on Avenue of the Stars in Beverly Hills, California, where he practiced Tax, Sports and Entertainment Law, and represented professional athletes, musicians, and entertainers.
In 1986, Mr. Thompson hired additional staff and expanded his law practice to include Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Probate & Trusts, Real Estate and Criminal Defense, and opened a second office in his home town of Vallejo, California with Attorney Osby Davis (the former Mayor of Vallejo).

DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Mr. Thompson was recognized as one of the “Outstanding Young Men in America” by the U.S. Jaycees and by the Continental of Omegas Boys & Girls Club for professional achievement. He also served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Solano County Superior Court for five years, where he presided over civil small claims actions; is a member of the Christian Businessmen’s Fellowship - Vallejo Chapter; taught labor law as an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University - Graduate MBA Program; hosted financial planning and wealth building seminars; and serves as legal counsel to numerous non profit organizations, real estate brokerages, mortgage companies, private investors and corporations throughout the state.
Mr. Thompson is the founding principal/owner of Esquire Realty and Investment Group (which represents clients in real estate development projects, commercial and residential sales and acquisitions, and property management). He is also the former President and one of the original founders of the Solano County Black Lawyers Association, and was on the Board of Governors for the California Association of Black Lawyers and National Bar Association.

Mr. Thompson has been an active trial lawyer since 1985 and to date, has had approximately 35+ court/jury trials, 600+ mediations/arbitrations, 500+ depositions, and appeared on 2500 + civil/criminal motions and related court hearings. He has been recognized for his expertise is resolving complex cases resulting in numerous million dollar recoveries for his clients. Over the course of the past 39 years, he has successfully handled a variety of cases, including personal injury, medical/dental malpractice, real estate matters, civil litigation, criminal defense, family law, probate and trust contests/administration.
